either way I've used vrp from chemical guys and Perl from car pro. Been happy so far. But car is only a year old.

I'm assuming you have tried trim dressing products like the above mentioned VRP and Perl, or 303 Protectant. These sometimes work, sometimes don't. If they do work, the effect will be limited. You could also try Koch Chemie Plast Star PSS, which is supposed to last longer than transitional plastic and rubber trim dressings.

If you have no luck with dressings, then you need to progress to something more restorative rather than protective. Solution Finish would be my choice here, a product that restores faded or blotchy plastic back to new without turning them glossy. Depending on vehicle usage, you can expect 12 to 24 months durability.
