I hope you see it SOOON!! I don't think anybody really knows the Ford Ordering, building, and delivery process very thoroughly, including many people who actually work at Flat Rock, I sure as hell don't get it.... My EDD and counter just vanished this morning! :shrug:

Some scandinavia and european manufacturers allow you to be present and actually watch as your vehicle is being assembled (SAAB, Volvo, to name a couple)...in fact SAAB used to pay for your accommodations!:eyebulge:

You can also do this as part of the buyer's tour with Corvettes. They have a package where you can follow the car down the line the last day and end up being the first person to start the car and see it light up with 0.00 miles.
In the last generation with the LS3/7/9 you could also pay to go out to the Wixom build center and build your dry sump engine yourself under the guidance of one of their engine builders.
I think the problem with the Mustang is that they make too damned many of them. It would be hard to accommodate these tours with the production rate of the cars. For the Corvette at max capacity, the Bowling Green plant can only make about 35,000 cars per year.

Volvo paid for mine. Flew me and the wife out to Sweden. Picked up us at the airport, put us up at a luxury hotel. They then took us to the factory and we went on a tour, gave us a nice lunch and handed over the SUV with a nice full tank of gas ($10 a gallon). Best part is we never set foot in a dealership until we went to drive it home. I'd fly out to Flat Rock and pick it up, even at my own expense.
