It has been awhile, but since we are stuck waiting for more info I figured I would keep playing around with some aftermarket parts.

My last go-around was focusing on front lips because I think they might sell better than a full front bumper, but I just had to see if there might be interest in something like this, because I love it:

The headlights are just for fun, and so I wouldn't have to include the turn signal in the lower openings, but I did anyway -- as LED's that look like a horizontal bar


What do you guys think? Would you be interested in shelling out $600 or so (unpainted) for a front like this?

Opposed to $430 or so for just a lip?

Hey Rampant was that taken from a stock photo of the car or is that whole thing a render? I ask bc something about the rear looks a bit off to me (too long?) but it could just be the angle.

I like what you did there but I agree with TT, your DHG one is just about perfect. Would you be able to put the modified front lip on a different picture in another color? Maybe DIB?

I thought that too, but I think Ramp's added a small lip spoiler on the rear, making it look longer.

I would rather shell out $430 for just the lip although I do like the cut lines (or lack thereof) from your full bumper mod. I think the prob is the the stock photo you used doesn't show the S550 in its best light. Or maybe I just don't like it in red. :shrug:

Where are you getting $430 quote from? Have you gotten any interested vendors for your lip mod? I would be totally down for that, looks awesome.

The $430 is target price based upon current product offerings.

There are a couple of options I am trying to make work - but it is pretty much down to waiting to get a car (which I am trying to get early if possible)

I have interest on several key levels - just trying to figure out exact products so I can put together a more accurate plans for the money guys. If that falls through, I will go the hand made, low volume crowd-funded route.

I have several options -- including revised fog openings (ABS) + front lip (urethane) vs. completely new bumper.

The problem is metal molds are expensive, and the separate parts would be 3 different molds. 1 completely new bumper might be cheaper, but the 3 pieces might attract a wider audience. This is where "testing the market" comes into play.

I love it, but I just don't know if I would want to give up the fangs. I just think that they flow so well with the lines on the hood - especially in person.

Agreed. I'm sure you could easily fashion the fangs insert into the new bumper. It's just plastic afterall?

Upper and lower grilles would be stock shape, so you can keep the fangs if you want.
