Has anyone had good experiences with delivery Costco farms out?
Costco used UPS to ship my Quickjack and sent an email with a tracking number. But it turns out there were actually three tracking numbers because it shipped in 3 boxes. So, I didn't find out one of them never made it to UPS until the other two arrived. Then rather than ship me the missing box, Costco insisted the 2 perfect condition, hundred plus pound boxes be returned so they could ship me all 3 boxes at once to triple the odds something would be lost or damaged in transit. They had to do that because they didn't trust a customer to accurately determine which box was missing even when they knew the tracking number for it! That meant THREE times staying home for deliveries or pickups. But they at least refunded $100+ for the hassle.
Don't know who they used for a TV delivery. Being in AZ I checked the specs for the TV and they listed 113f as the maximum temperature. UPS vans hit 150f in AZ. So I asked Costco and they checked and confirmed the delivery truck would be air conditioned. Was a little suspicious. The truck was not air conditioned and I was one of the last deliveries. No signage, names, phone numbers on the truck.
Last week I ordered a dish washer that included installation. Delivery for Thursday was confirmed. The delivery driver says the installation people would be there within a few hours. They never showed. I called Costco and they said it takes up to two days for the company to return calls but they would get them out to me ASAP. This morning (6 days after installation was supposed to happen), I called Costco again and they put me on hold for 40 minutes before telling me they can have someone out there in mid January. Not acceptable. Another long time on hold and they tell me they have good news: they can be there January 1st. LoL. It was that exact moment when it dawned on me just how many gruesome deaths have been averted by the invention of the telephone.
When I calm down will take another shot with customer support. I did some checking and I'm not the first and Costco has reimbursed at least one customer for finding their own installer when whoever Costco uses couldn't do it in time.
