So there are a few more posts of engines failing and there is again talk of bigger turbos. Now again, forgive my ignorance and hence the tread topic, but there are hundreds of posts and reviews of tuners about their tunes on stock turbos.

It is safe, i beat on mine and no issues. The engine is good for 400hp/400tq.

Why would you tune a car on a stock turbo if it's the problem?

Again, I fully understand that if I tune my car i am taking on risk, no one can guarantee anything. But I am coming to the forum to understand the risks, understand the potential, and make an informed decision. I'm stating again for me its clear as mud...

Also, why is the most desirable big turbo also the one that has almost the same spool characteristics as the stock one? IF the sudden power is the issue, why are we looking at a big turbo that has similar characteristics?

I'm just asking, not trying to be a jerk. I don't claim to know a lot about cars so please don't take this is the wrong way.

Stock like characteristics, especially for a big turbo, but full spool still comes on slightly later.
