While reading up on the recent Subaru recall, I discovered a tool at NHTSA I wasn't aware of; it allows anyone with a VIN to search history.

Ford trucks have the same recall on seat belt tenioners, from 2014 on iirc. with no fix as of yet, claimed parts back order.
This is per co-worker with 2 trucks, so take it for what it is worth.
But it seems the better mouse trap isn't better. just newer
