Just noticed this...

When the light switch is fully off, the DRLs are on
When the lights are on at the first position, no lights work
When the sidelights are selected, the headlamps come on
And headlamps work as normal.

Car in for service Friday so will raise it then...

Isn't the first position the sidelights?

I thought it was switch off, DRLs are on with nothing else; first position, sidelights are on and nothing else; second position, headlights on with DRLs?

Mine is like this (because modded)

When the light switch is off stock drls are on
When the lights are on at position 2: Tribar DRL are on with sidelight
When the 'headlight' is selected (postiion 3): Headlights, DRL, Sidelight
When on Auto: well, it's auto.

And how is this a help to a guy with standard lights? :frusty::lol:
Well.

Without modding it should be:

P1: Off
p2: DRL
p3: Sidelight/headlight
p4: Auto

Thats why I have side lights on all the time. Anything to stop those pesky DRL's. Devils things, almost as bad as diesel.

Sidelights are even worse lol. Little yellow blobs or little yellow circles.

I have a strong hatred of laser bright DRL's where the fog lights should be especially when idiot drivers leave the DRL's shining brightly in the twilight of a cloudy UK day. Thats why we have sidelights. They provide sufficient illumination to be seen by other traffic without being blinding. DRL's only make any sense at more equatorial latitudes where the days are much brighter and the transition from day to night occurs much quicker. At our latitude in the UK, especially with the weather we have, sidelights and headlights are much more appropriate.
The sooner they get banned on safety grounds the better!

FWIW i drive around with headlights / Tri-bar DRL and Sidelights on ;)! All are white (as are the stock DRLs, which are redundant now...)

Mine are nice bright white, but obviously smaller than the DRLs and have the added bonus of having the rear tribars lit up, so I always use sidelights too!
This ^^

p4: Auto
You sure about that?

Bearing in mind I'm not in the car right now but I thought it was:

P1 (off): DRLs (can't turn them off)
P2: Sidelights
P3: Headlights (plus either sidelights or DRLs)
P4: Auto

Yep sorry you're right :p! Got muddled, been a while ;)!

Headlights always come with the sidelights, dont think i've seen the car do headlights and DRL at the same time but i could be wrong.

It's as my sidelights are powering the new DRLs so get confused lmao.
