Hi all,
Probably very late to the game here but what the hell. Thought I would share some of my experiences (positive and negative) in case it helps others.
I have a 2017 GT which I have had from new. I've had the itch to put a CAI and tune on it for some time, but only recently found the time and inclination. After a LOT of research and ruminating I opted for a Steeda open box kit which I installed myself on the drive and then a remote tune from Steeda - both bought from Steeda.co.uk.
Honestly now it is all done, I am very very happy. The car sounds subtly but noticeably different in my opinion. A bit more of a gurgle and throaty and definitely a tad louder on the road. (I need my car stereo on a louder setting now vs before to have a proper conversation so thats as empirical as I get). The car definitely has a little more oomph now but drivability is very good. No annoying gear changes or idling problems. Also as a positive (and this is not the reason I did it) but the car seems to be giving me ~15% better MPG for similar driving styles. Filled up today after some motorway driving to a customer meeting and it said 400 miles til empty after filling which is practically unheard of.
There are a few negatives though. Firstly I ended up buying the slightly older (I think) version of Steeda's open air intake (fully plastic tube instead of part metal - old P/N is 555-3228 and new is 555-3202). I hadn't appreciated this and tbh would have gone for the newer if I had known there were two! Nobody pointed this out in my emails to and fro with Steeda. This is probably on me tbh, but just mentioning it. Also fwiw the Steeda.co.uk website actually cites 3202 as what it was sending me when I placed the order, so I am a little confused... but I haven't the energy to fight it now.

The second negative was you need to be super careful with the tune form from Steeda. I selected that I had a Steeda open air intake (there was only one option) and when the tune arrived the car smelt very rich on cold start up. It took a lot of back and forth and quite frankly me being dogmatic to get Steeda to look at this again and inform me they had sent me a tune for the newer CAI and not the older one (again I didn't know there were two and even if I had the Steeda.co.uk website even uses the newer part number for the kit I bought lol). Once I got the new tune all ok but this was more than a little frustrating. Also honestly the dialogue with Steeda was painful.... one word/line responses at times and like getting blood out of a stone in terms of information. I am very happy with the outcome but I could have very easily ended up with a suboptimal setup if I hadn't pushed. I guess this is the pro of a dyno run etc, but in the end I wanted something from a company like Steeda with a lot of background/history. I guess you pay your money and make your choices and live with the outcomes.
JFYI I also decided to fit a dry Airaid filter to the CAI instead of the wet one that came with the kit as I didnt want to be fussed with oiling and I preferred the grey look.
Finally I added the Base IRS subframe kit from Steeda too which is working fine.
Part numbers I ended up with in case anyone is interested
Steeda CAI 555-3228
SCTx4 and tune
Airaid filer - 702-462
Steeda IRS Base pack - 555-4450
Cheers,
