Brake lights

So I noticed my brake lights don't come on when I tap the brake pedal. I finally brought it into dealership they said something was faulty and replaced the part apparently. I can feel they did something bc the brake pedal feel more responsive and heavier. But now I notice that since the pedal is more sensitive that the brake lights come on even less often. I have to be stopping pretty hard to get them to come on and normally I'm just tapping the brakes to slow down. I'm afraid someone's gonna rear end me I can tell other drivers are annoyed by the fact that my brake lights don't work properly.

If I'm under warranty I'm good to go to whichever dealership I please, correct? I may just try somewhere else.

Yea I will try and schedule another appointment for next week. Hate how they didn't fix it though, might try another dealership.

I tried to have another dealer look at my emergency brake handle on why it wouldn't go all the way down. First dealer replaced the entire assembly, and didn't fix the issue, tried to tell me it was supposed to be like that. Other dealer refused to touch it since the other dealer did the work. I had to go back and ask for the GM and complain. Got it fixed right the second time.

well 2nd time to dealer. they claim everything is operating "normal"...yea no it isn't unless the brake lights are not supposed to come on when you compress the pedal lightly...

how much peddle travel until the brake lights turn on ?

Enough that I have to be stopping hard. Probably over a cm? It's basically never on unless I'm stopped and pressing hard.

I will have to check my car. Can't say I have paid attention to the amount of peddle travel required to toggle the lights.
