So I'm looking at wheels and would like to stay with black. Wondering if their is much difference in the "toughness" of the different black wheels. Black Gloss vs. black matte and whatever other black finishes come on wheels. I am guessing they are all powder coated? If so I guess they would probably be the same. My factory black wheels are great and I seem to be getting better at cleaning them and not puting micro scratches in them. Was thinking black matte would be better for this, but had a friend tell me black matte tends to chip/scratch easier?

Anyone care to give their suggestion.

It depends on the manufacturer, so if you have a design or model or brand we can help with the finish details for you.

Gloss black tends to scratch easier than matte black or satin black. It depends on the wheel company you go with, some are powder coated. We carry Satin black as a standard finish. Satin black is between matte black and gloss black. below are a few pictures of our Satin Black finish.
