Don't waste your money on the colored waxes. I tried the Meguiars Black Box a few years ago and won't waste the money again.. They don't make that kit anymore by the way

I've had 5 consecutive black vehicles starting with my wife's 99 Olds Intrigue. Each of these cars have caused me grey hairs due to the problems we've had with them. Gosh the Olds had Acid Rain etching on the top surfaces and it had to be repainted to correct that.
As someone stated, it is a full time job keeping black perfect.
One thing I learned was to wash with lots of water, a good quality soap in the bucket, microfiber wash mitts, a grit guard in the bottom of the bucket, and to always wash top to bottom and wash front to back. Do not rub hard, do not go round and round while washing, run the mitt straight from front to back NO SWIRL.
My only black car that ever stayed nice was my 2010 Camaro. But that stayed in the garage, never got rained on, and was always dusted or detailed spray after a drive. I was SO ANAL with the ride that it drove me nutz. I got rid of it due to Dealership issues and transmission issues that GM would NOT fix.

Don't use soap. Use a car shampoo. I use a wash mitt with a clean bucket of water to rinse the mitt and a grid in the bucket. I use a foam gun with pinnacle car shampoo. I use good microfiber towels for drying and an electric leaf blower for final drying in the hard to reach spots. And this past weekend I used the pinnacle souveran sizzling shine kit and damn is this paint look good. Now that I have found the proper way to do it, I ain't afraid of black cars any longer.
