Anyone ever done this?

Looks like a hoot, really thinking about it. Unfortunately I don't think they'd like me exceed GT3 class as I don't have a competition license and haven't participated in the past.

Serious "frontier" grade road racing.
Even by chopper you are probably two hours to "big city" trauma care.
Have seen men walk from bad wrecks out there only to pass away later that day.
Respect it, start easy, get exposure and make contacts to see if its your cup of tea?
Supposedly super fun even in the lower classes although I never ran it. I knew others that did and some that still do.

Its open road race and not COTA with huge runoffs for over cooked turns.
More about managing yourself and having fun, not trying to push 10/10ths for the first time in anything other than a well sorted car.
Youll find top guys out there are 20-30 year career drivers either competition or test drivers for OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.

If you have all the gear then try an entry but I think they fill fast.
They are looking for more Fords!
You can always volunteer as support and still have a blast.

I've talked to a couple of people who have done it. What I've heard is that if all you want to do is drive fast on a state highway, it's not worth the time and money. But if you're into the whole experience of the event, it's a good time. I've thought about doing it for years, but the time (4 days of vacation) and money involved for the limited amount of actual driving time just doesn't do it for me.

I was thinking that too, practice run is maybe 30-40 mins each way and then race day its ~25 mins each way
