Heck you can find just about anything you will ever need at wmart or pboys. Just recently we did a "restore" on a jeep patriot and we gotvit all from there (decided to do the job that day). We scored :
Meguiars ultimate compound
Meguiars ultimate polish
Meguiars mirror glaze
Mothers clay kit
Turtle wax swirl remover (for tougher spots)
And a spray wax. We were gonna get mothers synthtic paste but we were already gonna hand clay-compound-polish-glaze the thing.
Owner kept asking if we were gonna leave it wet. Thats how good it came out

Didn't read the entire thread yet, but I just came to recommend anything in the Meguiar's Ultimate line of products. Especially the Ultimate liquid wax. Although called a wax, it's actually a synthetic sealant. Beads water like crazy and lasts forever. I put 1-3 coats on each summer and it provides excellent protection all through the long MN winter.

did you apply this all by hand or do you have a machine buffer?

Compound and swirl remover has to be done by machine if your goal is to restore haze or remove scratces, otherwise youre wasting time and product. Dont get me wrong itll look better, but not anywhere near like with a machine. Even the 20$ 3500 rpm random orbitals do a much better job than your 62 rpm right hand.

If its for a brand new car, then yes id hand it all. Itll take like 7 hours but yeah

Yup. And really unless youre bringing a very beat up, hazy, swirly, neglected car back to life you dont need something that goes at 7000rpm. And at that point if you dont know what youre doing theres a good chance youll do some damage.
But if money is no object id get the meguiars. Over a porter even. Yeah you read right. Meguiars has this clmpensation feature that no matter what pressure you apply the rpma stay consistent. Its amazing to say the least
