I just have ordered new tires (same brand etc but 275 wide..) if I had that info before I would have changed it :p
Yves there are some other topics about tires too.
See if you can still switch them and do so!
Do better not take Pirelli in my opinion...
Unless you have a specific reason?

Still wondering if you could use run flat?
Been unlucky with my tires so many times that I prefer to buy those if possible when needed to switch.

Why would you wanna switch to 275? Assuming you are keeping your factory 19" wheels they will either be 2.33% too high (275/40) or 1.67% too low (275/35).

Okay that means the new tires width matches the new wheel so that is perfect but they are still too high or too low.

They do it OEM in the US, so I assume it is the right setup?
Did you check your papers if they are allowed on the Ecoboost?
Otherwise if in an accident, let's hope never, insurance company might use this as an excuse for NOT paying!

My insurance agent warned me on my BMW as well as the tire company so I went for another allowed solution.

Yeah for a GT. But the EcoBoost is set up for 255/40/19 rear tires, not for 275/40/19.

The best height matching wider tire for the rear is 295/35/19. That requires a 10.5J19 wheel though.

It's not a disaster or anything, but technically it's not optimal and your speedo will be off because the new tire is larger. With every rotation you will cover more distance and therefore your car will be going faster than it indicates.

So make sure you check your actual speed with a gps and compare to what the speedo indicates so you know where the limits are.

Chances are the speedo will actually become more precise now because my finding (with original tires) is that when you are doing 125 on the speedo you are actually really only going 120.

no, I buyed the wider 19" inch black wheels

:) The 275 are OEM on a GT with these wider rims
Please note that these are the Performance Package wheels and come with 255/40 front and 275/40 rear. Not 275/40 all round as the front wheel is only 9 inch wide. I would agree that the Pirellis are not the best choice, at least I don't like them on my GT and as soon they are gone I will change to Michelin.

Yep, that is what is my setup, but in Pirelli's :(
How much km a year are you going to drive with your Mustang?
After less than 12000 km they will be gone so maybe within less than a year you can buy other ones. I also prefer Michelin Pilot Sport.

But once again did you check if they are allowed on the EB?

I going to buy winter tires, so that will help :) 20k in a year or more.

It's allowed as far as I know. It's putting 21" that is illegal (1" inch extra is tolerated). And I keep the same same 19" size. Also there is a pony on it, they will never ask questions

I asked the dealer about rear 275s on the Ecoboost like the GT has. He said you can do whatever the "gelijkvormigheidsattest" (sorry, don't know the english term) says is OK as alternative tire sizes, but every other size besides that would be illegal and probably a problem for insurance in case of a crash as well. (as Voodoo077 already said)

Here's an example from google on an Audi.

Haven't checked ours yet... Sorry

Yeah but with most Audii there are optional 18, 19 and even 20 inch wheels, which are all homologated by the factory. With the EcoBoost Mustang there is no other wheel option than 19" with 255/40/19 front and rear. Unless indeed the EcoBoost and the GT are considered the same model. In that case the 275/40/19 rear is allowed.
