BBQ tick +/or rattle

Lots in the US section forums on this. Does anyone know of an Oz delivered car so affected?

I think there was one.

We've had a few that have dropped valves though.

Half a dozen out of 20,000 are fairly good odds.

Sure is good, was looking into C63 AMG yesterday...head bolts, valvetrain, then they facelifted it and gave it some incurable rattles. FFS it's a Merc! Don't get me started on the M3 V8 and the Cayenne cyl liners. Oh and LS1 oil rings. We're doing pretty well with our cars overall. Anyway...back O/T...

i had a 2018 GT with horrendous tick/rattle on cold starts, the 2k rattle, a knock at idle when warm and a hissing/ball-bearing type noise when warm.

@LowKey thanks for posting. Did the tick/rattle only happen after the first oil change? Did you get a replacement engine?

nah it did it from brand new, 15KM or so when i got it - didn't go down that path, i just sold it and copped the loss.
