Has anyone just swapped out the stock - 6.5" speakers? Stage 3 sells a 4 speaker 6.5" Kicker -they say a big improvement over stock? Does anyone know if the rear speakers in a vert are also 6.5"
I changed out all my speakers to kicker but not from stage 3.......not sure about the verts but in the fastbacks front and rears are all 6.5's. I would recommend reusing the front speaker brackets like needed for the rear....stage 3 doesn't say so but without brackets you have to drill holes in the door and there's barely enough room to do so or go to a 6-3\4 for the fronts .

I swapped all of mine with pioneer TS-A series (3-way in front, 4-way in rear).

It sounds much better than the factory. The factory speakers had almost no low end bass, but the pioneers at least push enough air that I can feel it on my leg next to the front speakers. Truth be told; I listen to death metal so booming bass isn't what I was after though, just tight controlled decent bass.

Make sure whatever speakers you get have a high efficiency rating since without an amp, you'll want all of those (probably 10-15) watts to work for you.
