Barton shifter :help!!

So I’m in the middle of installing my Barton Hybrid 3 on my 2015 GT. I installed the linkage so far And it seems the cup that should b pointing upward is it straight up . Am I ok to just loosen the Allen screw and turn upwards? It just seems like it should be the same as the linkage and I want to be 100% positive before I continue! So I’m stuck right now , My brother has the Hybrid 3 also and I love it !! Basically I need to know should the Linkage and the cup point straight up or not is it the shifter or does it just need to adjust. ? Somebody has to know what I can do or who I can ask real quick so I can finish up. Thanks a lot
