Car is in for its 30k mile service today (18m old).

Turns out one of the balljoints has completely had it (explains the knock and funny feeling I've been having when applying the brakes).

Anyone else had balljoint problems? Were the parts EU or US stock?

I'm guessing this is not warranty?

Dealership screwed up a bit by not starting on the car in good time, but they sent me away at 5pm in a new Fiesta. Got to say, brilliant little car!

Yeah, a colleague has had this on his car - Apr 16 build. Somewhat surprised us.

Replaced today.

Local stock!

Replaced the whole lower arm and balljoint.

All under warranty. Surprised doesn't even begin to explain my reaction!

Drives so much better now.

Had mine done under warranty a bit back. Next day for parts and yes, massively improved what must have been a gradual decline in ride quality.

Both sides would have been nice; or did they do that?

No, just the one side.

To be fair, you can't expect them to replace parts that don't need doing.

That's fair enough but I always like to change things like that in pairs. No telling when the other side might go.

Don't need to change in pairs, but nice for peace of mind.

I haven't had any ball joint failures as of yet in my US car, multiple track days. I recently took off the front lower control arms (the ones rear most in the front suspension) and they ball joints were in excellent shape. Sometimes ball joints just say... "Ich habe genug gehabt!"
