Especially for you...there are leaves on the trees...I bet there are still leaves in Jackson, MS.
TN
You are correct. Good (?) news is that the dealers here had sold all of their allocations before I decided to pull the trigger on an LE. Mine is coming from a dealer in the DC area. Not sure if trees there still have leaves but I'm hoping not.

It appears it missed the upper ramp, all of the ones I've seen have been on the lower dove tail. I would never have put it on top. They'll fix it, the damage would have been minimal. As long as mine took in shipping, it was probably mine. Mine originally left on a VehiShip truck and arrived on a Jack Cooper truck.

You have no idea how long the car was bouncing around like this on top of the truck! :shocked: Saying the damage is minimal - how do you know that? With the cover on, we can't even see how bad the front is damaged. Looking at the pictures makes me worried that there is damage in front of the rear wheel and the side panel has to be replaced. I would NOT accept this car without a really big discount. That is for sure.

Driving millions of miles semi-trucks, I absolutely hate unprofessionalism like this from drivers. Does anyone here thinks that the guy checked his load every 2 hours like he should? I doubt it. Best are the guys now who drive around with headsets on to "relax" on duty. They can't even hear the honking drivers to get his attention. :thumbdown:

I drove one day behind a truck like that in PA on a small two way HWY and one of his secure chains was waving all over the place, destroying other cars and trucks windshields. After one hour some trucks and the State Police blocked the HWY. The guy was still listening to his music on the headset! :paddle:

Husker;
I'm afraid you're correct on this. However, there have been a number of well publicized verdicts against dealers and manufacturers for selling new cars which were damaged and repaired without disclosure of the repair to the purchaser. Maybe that fact, and the visibility of the LE's and their importance to Ford, will prompt them to do the right thing.

Mine was on the top on the dove tail. So it woulda been higher up when bottom had cars. It was seen by a friend on interstate and I have pictures of it like that. I don't care if they hauled it in on the backs of lizards as long as it got in safe.

Thankfully, damage in transit isn't common. But it happens. Accidents happen. It sucks when it happens to something special, or something that's yours (MC), but it does.

I know it did not bounce down the highway because the tire "tie downs" are not on it. This happened most likely during the loading process, when the driver did not get the transfer plate all the way forward. I'm thinking it may have been mine on a Vehiship truck. They use minimum wage drivers to move cars from the plant to rail yards. Most of the cars are transported by Jack Cooper trucks, his guys make 92K a year and win many safety awards. Mine left on Vehiship, but arrived on a Jack Cooper truck with 25 extra undocumented miles after leaving the factory. Yes, the discrepancies have been reported and it is going in tomorrow for an extra going over with me present. To the naked eye, there is nothing wrong visually with my car except some scratches, the weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow so we'll get to take it on a check out drive and due a thorough inspection on a lift.

I am aware that some of this guys would go for a spin! Make sure that the car gets scanned on the computer of over RPM codes. When I got our Jeep GC, that code showed up 7 times. I didn't know until one of the service guys did tell me that. And our GC had scratches too down to the metal. :mad:

You are right. Today with companies paying less to the shipping companies, that from the drivers down to the trucks most shippers give a shut. I would think that cars are a expensive item and Ford and friends should look for good trucking companies.

Well. You guys are paying only $895 shipping. That's what you get for. If I would drive that truck and would know that this is an LE on my truck, I would sweat blood until I am at my consignee. :eyebulge:
