Looking for just a Titch more volume from my exhaust currently. Not into stupid loud O/R H/X pipe stuff anymore. I plan on keeping the resonator to maintain interior sound quality as much as possible etc. Car makes 762whp/670tq through the factory resonator and mufflers with Kooks LT's and hi-flow bullet cats. Anyone still running the factory resonator with a set of axle backs that have some sound clips? I'm really liking the SVE axle back sound with the factory resonator so far.

I can tell you the SVE will drone, at least it did a LOT on my car. Sound was nice and deep at lower revs but as the car revved a little more the sound seems to get quieter.

I changed from them to the AWE Touring and couldn’t be happier!

Nice bark at revs, NO DRONE, quiet when you want it to be and gnarly when you don’t.

YMMV.

Good luck!

Thanks, but it still had drone with the factory resonator? Was it tolerable?

Yes. Drone with the factory suitcase.

Tolerable? Not for me. Wife came for a longer drive with the top up and said that was the end of that exhaust!

The drone I had was right in the the cruising RPM and made driving not very nice.

Mine is a convertible though. Not sure about coupes if it’s as bad...

I hate you. I didn't want to blow $1300.00 on a system, but man..... The AWE setup is in my shopping cart. Just waiting for a big sale now... :)

Lol.

I hear you! I went the “cheap” route first as well with the SVE / CJPP / Nxt Step axle back and was disappointed.

Changed to the AWE and pure bliss lol. You won’t be disappointed!

Be warned: the AWE is NOT quiet. It sounds amazing and doesn't drone but it is loud. With the suitcase it's quite reasonable but with a resonator delete, very loud.

Louder under engine load. Cruising I don’t find it much louder than stock. Easy conversation. No drone at all for me. None. Under load it has very nice growl. Compared to the SVE it’s night and day! WAY quieter cruising and low rpm, no drone. The SVE got quieter as the revs increased where the AWE gets louder, as to be expected.

Not sure how it is without the suitcase though.

Just watched a few more videos. Looks like with my LT's, the AWE is still going to be pretty damn loud under WOT. I did however, find AM has the AWE axle back version that I may try with my suitcase intact. I'm really only looking for about a 10-15% increase in volume.

It's a lot more than that. I have the axleback. It sounds amazing but it's got a big increase in volume over stock.

Look at the Ford performance by Borla touring.

Take a look at the RTR Street axleback. I have it and love the deeper slightly louder than stock tone. Free flow too.

I recently installed Borla Type S axle backs on my 16 Vert. Love the deep rumble. No drone. I highly recommend you look at these.
