Hello Guys, Mike from Italy's here.
I just received my custom made Autometer boost/vac gauges and....I have no idea how to install it (in the EcoBoost).
Well, I saw some tutorials in generic installation but I don't know where I have to connect the boost on our cars.
Can someone help me with some information or tutorial, link, anything but more focused on Ecoboost please?
Thank you in advance!

Mike!

Hello Chef!
My gauge is the mechanical one, it is just like the Autometer classic boost/vac gauge but with a custom look.
So I need the turbosmart part and then I have to connect the gauge to the free output remaining, right?
Did you used it? is it a reliable solution?

I also saw the gauge pod but I'm considering to build a custom one...

Can I also ask you an help for the electrical connection? it is for the light only.

Thank you so much Chef for your kind help!
Mike.

I have the turbosmart adapter to control my bypass valve and it works great.
Installation takes about 1 minute.

You just need to pick a spot to run the vacuum line into the cabin.
You might want to pick up power from the fuse box and run the wire with the vacuum tube.

When you build your custom pod, show it off!!

Hello guys, I just finished connecting the boost gauge with turbosmart BRA (thank again and again Chef), now I have to connect the electrical feeding; any advice ?
I found a probably useful connection in the light switch connector but since it is a 16 pin I can't recognize the +\- wiring...and I'm not able to find diagrams for it.

Do you have any experience connecting with light switch?
Thank you in advance!!!

That gauge looks really nice, I dig.

With it being mechanical though, I am concerned about the resting position of the needle without boost or vacuum being supplied.

I would imagine that should be sitting a lot closer to 0.

that would depend on what the baro pressure is in his location. If that barometric pressure is above 29.92" the gauge would read positive pressure. He is probably near sea level.

I understand that, but you would think it would be calibrated for sea level.

I am at 5000ft and I'm used to seeing them read a tad below 0, never around 5.

The easiest way would just be to use a multimeter and test each one of the pins for ignition on power. Be sure you are testing it on the battery side, and not the equipment side if you have the the connector separated.

Thank you Chef! After some work and searching I think I'll go with the sjb (fuse box on the passenger side) and a "add a fuse", maybe it's the easier way, there're many free spots there...what's your opinion?
I also started working on the custom gauge pod, I'll post here sooner as it's ready!

I don't know if your trying to a varible, dimming connection, those can be truoblesome as they rarely match brightness and with new vehicles dash, that is even harder IMO.
If you just want it lighting with lights on, see if there are easy access ACC around, like example cig lighter/power plug, if it is lighted that might be easier to tap than from light switch. I don't have Mustang so can't give direct ways, just general.

You could also check fuse box for running/daytime light fuse and tap off that.

Hey guys, sorry to post in an old thread - unsure if I should start a new one since I'm trying to do the same thing. No guidance in the forum rules/ToS.

I'm looking to install a mechanical boost/vacuum gauge in my 2016 Mustang Ecoboost in a vent mount. Can anyone provide more detail to where is best to splice into the boost/vacuum line and what fuse you guys used for the backlight? The picture isn't showing in the Aug 10, 2017, post from Mike Delo.
