I ended up just getting the OEM Motorcraft Air Filter. Not worth deteriorating the engine for an extra 2 hp.

My car is at 65k miles, so I was going to replace the enginer air filter in it.

I have seen these two filters online as potential replacements:

Amazon K&N Air Filter

For K&N Air Filter

They seem to be same, but I wanted to make sure. I am gonig to order the one from Amazon since it will be cheaper.
But something tested and proven. I've talked to many tuners and intake in general your best performance short of moderate to high boost is an OEM intake/airbox from 18+ (bolts directy to 15-17). With a AFE pro dry S air filter. Lifetime filter to so never needs replacing just hose it out in the sink every so often and let it dry. Filters amazingly and better airflow.

I've used K&N filters since the early 90's. A few of my vehicles got over 180K miles with these filters on. So I don't see the issue with dirt getting into the intake. I had one Nissan 720 hitting 280k miles with K&N filter through it's life. One vehicle required filter cleaning every 3 months and still went 180K miles. K&N saves me money.
