How often do you use your paddle shifters? How do you like them, and how quick does the trans respond/shift when it gets the input?

I am finishing up my Coyote/6r80 swap in my '92, and I am at a decision point as to whether I get the SelectShift working or not.
I only use S mode and paddle shift, in the 2 years I've had my 2015 V6 I never put it in D mode. I also installed the SCT 93 tune which allow me to program the shifting firmness from factory to +25% which shifts very quick and firm.

The response is on the slow side like about half second.

And.... If you hit a paddle, you have to go to D from S to reset it so the trans shifts itself again. Stupid. It should be a time delay like it is in D when you hit a paddle.
Mine goes back to auto shifting pretty soon afterward unless the shifter is in S mode. No need to shift back into D.

I've driven a few cars with DCTs and it's nothing like those but the paddle shifters would he handy for autocrossing or roadracing, maybe even drifting. Otherwise I only use them for hooning.
