Hi I am new to the forum and Mustang ownership and have put a deposit down on this car https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classi...romSavedAds=true&advertising-location=at_cars to hopefully collect at the weekend.

Its had lots of time and money lavished on it so I was hoping that the one previous owner might be kicking around the forum?

Does anyone know the history of the car?

Ill be coming from many years in German sports cars, so will no doubt be one here quite a bit whilst i get my head round the Mustang.

I don't recognise the car but it did pass it's last MOT fine and looks quite clean, shame there's no engine pics. There's a lot of mods on the car, was there no paperwork for any of it ?

Welcome to the forum! :like:

Not one that I recognise from anyone on here. If you haven't already, be sure to check in with mustang owners club (mocgb.net) and also the facebook groups "simply mustangs" and "mustangs unleashed".

Quite likely someone will know it.

Dont recognise it either - but as Kristian said - join Simply Mustangs on FB - worth doing in any case!

It looks to be in superb condition etc

Get your self down to the monthly Howden meeting (I know its a fair mileage away for you - there are quite a few turn up from the North East though!)

60 plus Mustangs at Howden a few months ago!

See details in either Simply Mustangs - or on meets and events at top of this forum (Yorkshire / Lincolnshire meeting I think its called)

congrats on a great looking Mustang!

I know the owner... It's a clean car so you've got nothing to worry about at all :D!

Thanks for all the replies and advice on FB groups. @Manders Mustang, do you know if the previous owner was on any other forums. I would love to know a little more of the history and what if anything else has been done.
It’s always a shame when dealers sell cars as usually the paperwork and any bills etc are thrown for fear of GDPR breach.
If not no worries, I’ll buy and discover as I go.
Thanks - Craig

Not sure which headers and more importantly, cats, JW use. Check where it passed its mot. If a dealer or kwik fit etc then it looks like a great car for the price. If back street, then be a bit suspect and ask them to run it through an mot emissions test from kwik fit before handing over the cash. Good catted headers are ÂŁ2500 on their own before fitting. Someone has put good money into this car.

Unsurprising, really need a friendly MOTer for high flow cats

Damn I thought greens would pass...just. Did you get it really hot before the mot?
Apparently angled lambda sensors or spacers between exhaust and sensor help to pull the sensor out of the gas flow, which helps you pass

My car passed it's MOT, I was referring to the car the OP was querying - I added the number plate to an app I've got and it tells me when it passes or fails an MOT and what it fails on.

Sorry , my misunderstanding. That’s one for any potential purchaser to agonise over.
