On the cheaper way, would they spray clear coat on just the stripes? My stripes are painted on. I did vinyl on my f150 and the paint started to peel off when trying to removal the vinyl. And it was quality vinyl 3m but u think the Florida sun had a lot to do with it. When I went to the painter he gave me 2 options paint the stripe right over clear coat. But you would feel the paint line (cheeper) or sand bumper, hood, roof, trunk rear bumper and paint stripes and clear all those parts so you wouldn't feel paint line. I went this route cost 2 grand
I wonder if the feel of the paint line on this option would be similar to the feel of a vinyl stripe line, or thicker/thinner.
Anyone gone this less expensive 'painted over clear coat' option and can say how it looks and feels w/ the paint line? Do they leave the masking tape in the same place for applying clear coat, or move tape out slightly (or no tape at all??).
Can you feel the option two paint line, but just a lot less as the edge is blended with the clear over coat?
