Has anyone contemplated putting a more powerful Ecoboost engine (either 4cyl or 6cyl) in a new Mustang. They've been making Ecoboost 6cyl for trucks for some time, would they fit into a Mustang?

Do you mean Ford had a larger 4cyl they could have used?

No, the v6 would not fit. As for why aren't the current engines more powerful? Money.

Why? the 5.0 is a really wide engine. Look at the engine compartment of an F150 with an Ecoboost and then with V8. More room around the Ecoboost.
