Since I picked up my Triple Yellow stang, I've been trying different waxes... Meguiar's UPW, P21, Zymol Carbon, etc. Today I went to the back of the cabinet and pulled out my old can of 3M Perfect-It Show Car Paste Wax (from 1997!). I was going to toss it, but figured I'd give it a try on a small area first. Damn! Now I remember why I used that stuff years ago! Absolutely phenomenal shine, depth, and deepening of color. I ended up doing the whole car.

It is also very evident the 3M has some thickness to it. Probably one of the few products that can be layered and have it actually layer. Most stuff I tried to layer just dissolved the base layer and I ended up with the same as I started with. If I remember correctly, I had to wait 24 hours for the base later to harden.

The MSDS for it states it has up to 30% carnauba, 7% Montan wax (whatever that is - need to look it up), along with Silicones and Siloxanes. The latter is really good at repelling contaminants.

Best of all, they still make it. Now mind you, it is not the easiest stuff to get off, but the results were worth the sweat. Needless to say, I did not toss the can...

I ordered some Glare and I'll see how that does vs the 3M.
