Hey guys,

I’m trying to make a nice wooden setup in my trunk for the airlift 3p system I have. Does anyone have any tips, measurements, or anything that would help with getting the trunk dimensions to make the wood flooring fit nicely. Local shops want to charge $700+ and have the car for a week and I can’t do that right now since it’s my dailythat’s why I’m going the DIY route.

Currently looking to buy some all black wood flooring from lowes or something. Any other types of wood slats/flooring suggestions are welcome if it makes the install easier!!

Thanks!

Check my build thread on the first page. I show very generically the steps I went through to do my setup.

I did a lot of research before I started. Here are some of the links I went to:

Once I was ready, I drew out my design. Take into account access to spare, compressors, etc. I took measurements and translated that to my design. I then went to BagRiders for all my fittings and tubing. I picked up MDF, a box of wood flooring and plexiglass from Menards (home depot or lowes are just as good). All together, parts cost me about $500, but that's because I had to buy a router and tubing bender and a couple other tools.

When it was time to build, I started with making templates out of posterboard. I cut close to shape, then used masking tape to attach to sides. This helped form the curves, then I just used a pen to trace outline. Once I pulled posterboard out, I cut along the lines. I transferred that to mdf and cut out with jigsaw. If just trying to make wood floor, layout wood flooring and attach together. Use template again and translate to the assembled flooring. Then cut out with jigsaw. It may be easier to disassemble and cut one by one. Then it's just a matter of setting it in and attaching tank. If kept simple, it may cost you as cheap as $200.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
