Hey guys and gals!! I was searching through the forums and noticed that there wasn't a thread specifically dedicated to aftermarket or modified hoods. I, for one, spent many hours researching and looking at hoods all over the interwebz before I made my decision. Most of the pics available are usually stock pics, making it hard to get a true feel for how our cars can look with the hood. So, in order to help out any potential hood buyer out there that is still on the fence in regards to purchasing the hood, feel free to share pics of your hood as well as thoughts about quality, fitment, etc...
Personally, I opted for the Anderson Composites 3in Cowl Hood, and couldn't be any happier! Honestly, I was never a huge fans of cowl hoods BEFORE the s550, as I always preferred the "ram-air" style hoods instead.
In terms of quality and fitment, the AC Cowl hood is flawless. It only took me approximately 10 mins to align it properly with the help of a friend. I would recommend using some sort of hood latch if you choose to go with this hood (or any aftermarket hood really) as I did notice some slight bending due to air pressure building in the engine bay at high speeds during my first test drive. I then chose not to drive it until I had my latches installed (which was only a few days later, done by a shop, as I did not trust my own cutting skills enough to warrant cutting through my brand new CF hood...) Overall, couldn't be happier with the end look!
