+1 On solo performance. Best sounding exhaust for the ecoboost in my opinion.
Their 55 degree resonators eliminate those bad RPM noises, resulting a deep low growl. I've gotten many complements, most being that is the best sounding 4 cylinder they've heard.

I've heard some nice muffler deletes but other muffles deletes don't sound as good

You can get a good drop tone at your local muffler shop. Replace resonator with a nice Flowmaster 1 into 2 muffler, replace mufflers with mufflers of your choice. I went with cherry Bombs, but thrush or magna flow or whatever will be fine.

In my opinion, Cheapest way would be muffler and/or resonator delete. Best sounding way would be a cat-back. Magnaflow, Solo performance and MBRP are ones that give the best sound considering the cost (specially Solo performance).

That video above was the first time I heard of the Solo, and actually heard it...I'm going to agree to disagree. I'm not fond of the sound or the price. I rather pay almost half and have a less raspy/rattling sound. The Solo definitely sounds better than most of the others!

Been listening to this stuff for months..... just not easy to hear sound differences with internet files. One thing for sure, the Coyote (and GT350) guys love to really hear that engine purring, and I don't blame them at all...it's all about raw power for them. For me, as well as many turbo owners, we seem to prefer a deep, strong-sounding TURBO engine, and not necessarily an imitation of an 8. By quiet, we don't seem to prefer the deadened (overmuffled) sound that comes stock.... it sounds too "ordinary".... I think many (like the OP and myself) seem to prefer fairly quiet at idle or cruise, but a HEALTHY TURBO engine growl when on the throttle. Of course, without drone or raspiness. When I did the resonator delete + a pair of Magnaflows, the sound was greatly improved, as would it be with many of the catback exhaust kits available right now. Try to hear the options in person if you can, like at a Mustang meet-up or a cars-and-coffee.

The main reason I've not decided on an exhaust yet is that I haven't found one that I think would really sound good behind this engine. Two close contenders are Map and MBRP. I had the MBRP 3" system on our focus st. It sounded really good but had quite a bit of drone. From the sound clips I've heard it sounds as if it may have drone on the mustang too. The MAP catback sounds pretty good without being overly loud.

I would be fine with a system that sounded like the volvo 5 cylinder ( i know wishfull thinking)

I guess what I'm really trying to say is that I am finding it really difficult to come to terms with any sound coming from the back of the car that doesn't sound like a v8.

It will never sound like anything other than a turbo 4. The best you will ever get is the best sound a turbo 4 can make. Everyone needs to come to grips with that.

Yea I may be in the minority but I'd rather it have a nice deep turbo engine sound than look like I'm just trying to sound like a V8 but not really sound like one like a lot of V6s

I've gotten used to my improved deep turbo growl, especially when on the throttle...... it just sounds "right" for a strong Mustang turbo engine. Still really like the sound of the GT350 though...... oh well, can't have everything. ;)

I say, get a turboback exhaust system. Most that I have heard sound great to me. As far as the meatiest sounding ones go, the RIP tuning catless street system has a good, clean tone as does the Solo performance turboback. If you want loud, MRT has a very aggressive sounding turboback.
