Ford Racing strut tower brace.
Are they allowed to fit that? They gave me some speech about pedestrian safety and underbonnet clearance in case of pedestrian impact.

Why would you need extra clearance when you have a deployable bonnet?

Your dealer is talking BS.....you are allowed to fit the brace in EU. Even here in Germany where TUV (Bilprovningen) makes life a misery sometimes its not an issue. My dealer even fitted mine!

In situations like this I am so happy to live in the Netherlands where we don't have any of this useless burocratic approval certificate nonsense.

In Italy after a long debate it seems legit to install strut tower brace ONLY if it's bolted and not if it's welded

Same in the UK. They can do whatever they want.....here they only want one thing from you, money!

Re burocratic....my wheels. Short and sweet but very nerving and time consuming:

If your new wheels doesn't come with an ABE (preapproved, no need to do below)...

Buy wheels, get paperwork from manufacturer. Fit wheels and new tyres in accordance with said manufacturers recommendation. Book appointment with TUV. Don't use car while waiting for appointment. Drive to appointment. Hand over paperwork. Wait while the inspector does his thing. Get paper saying all ok. Pay. Drive to Strassenverkehrsamt to get papers stamped up and entered into your car reg papers. Pay and be happy

I don't see no reason why, the GT has the strut tower brace anyway.
In no way this can affect the pedestrian safety.

Well, what they told me was the in the EU, there has to be a certain clearance between the bonnet and the engine, to allow the bonnet to deform if someone's head strikes it in an impact. In the Mustang GT PP with the strut bar, this clearance was too low which is part of the reason why it was removed for the European market - it didn't meet pedestrian safety requirements regarding clearance distance.

But of course, all I have to go on is what they told me, and what they told me was that there was a six month wait for delivery too

One would assume that if a pedestrians head were to hit the bonnet with such force that it would deform the bonnet to such extent that it would actually hit the strut tower brace said pedestrian would be dead as a doornail anyway.

LOL

D-day today!!!! I picked up the car from the dealership!!!
It was dry and a little sunny when I drove from the garage to my house.
So all by all perfect weather and man this car drives like a dream!!!
And then there is all this attention from other people when you drive by!!!
Love the car already. After all those stories I heard about damage on the car
by delivery I checked the car very well and found only 2 scratches on the left quarterpanel but it's nothing serious. I'm pretty sure I can wax it away:).
These are some pictures we took today.

Congrats.

Strange. Most of the dealers in my country never display client's car to public.
Every time I received my new cars I took delivery behing i.e the service area or at a private room. Never on display area.
