I've been looking at a couple of exhausts for my upcoming GT. I don't want anything too loud and raspy so I've narrowed it down to this Borla system which replaces the stock resonator with a smaller lighter one (instead of an x-pipe or h-pipe).

But I'm drawn to this Solo XV system it makes a truly wonderful deep noise with long x-muffler and j-pipes. And its a great price but its a bit louder. Too loud I'm not sure.

Do any of you have these systems? What do you think?

The Solo is flipping amazing. Deep growl. Stays deep throughout the range. No drone. Great price. Also, defo not too loud.

I think that Solo system gives the most pronounced V8 sound I've heard from a GT and with none of that nasty rasp. It does sound great, it's just a case of exactly how loud it is to the ear.

As I mentioned, for me the volume is spot on. The Mach Thunder is louder (though I've never heard it in person). I should put people off so I would only be one of the few with the Solo here I the UK, but it does sound so good and always puts a smile on my face when I go for a drive.

It's sounds amazing in the clip above. I'm concerned about early starts. What's it like on a cold start and off throttle when you just want to roll out off the street?

Do you have a VLOG?

I have the Borla touring with resonator,, (I did have the X pilpe) but couldn't stand the rasp.

It's a nice deep note, no rasp, and judging by the clips I've heard, I'd say it's problem less volume than the Solo...

At first I thought it may be a bit to quiet, but I've done some really long trips in it now, and found it to be just right, so I'm sticking with it....:)

I was thinking of going for the solo catback Mach XV system it's apparently a bit quieter than the thunder. Will definitely be going for the solo though.

Does it effect insurance costs at all?
