I installed the 4th brake light and sequencer on my car just now. The sequencer works perfectly fine. My 4th brake light, however, doesn't light up red. The led works like it is stock.

Has anyone run into this problem? I'm thinking I got just the cool white led bulb and not the red/white led. I'll try to upload a video of it tomorrow when I get a chance.

I'll double check. That might be the issue. I didn't want to try and force it in the connector and accidentally break it

I had the same issue last night. It was just that the red wire wasn't in far enough. I used the small screw driver they sent along and pushed on the metal piece of the wire and finally snapped all the way in.

It's a very snug fit and make sure you have the wire pin oriented the right way or it won't lock into place. Use a light to look into the plug and you'll see the metal pins for the other two wires, you should see the middle one just as well when it's locked in.

I installed this kit recently, the most difficult part was installing the new wire in the reverse light socket. You need good light and more importantly good eye sight. I discovered I don't see small things up close very well anymore. Don't waste your time trying to seat the pin in the socket with your fingers, use the provided screwdriver. I could feel it click into place. If your car has the factory sub woofer you have to remove it to access the passenger side tail light socket. The install is easy but took much longer than I thought it would, as usual. Love the result, the LED reverse light is much brighter and inattentive drivers can always use another brake light.

I had the same struggle with the wire. Using the screw driver to do the last push does the trick.

I had the red light not light up after couple days, but when checked the problem it was that the bulb was not snapped it all the way. I did that and haven't the the problem ever since. Here is a video at night on how they look.

I, personally, found there is a misunderstanding on the best way to seat the red light wire into the plug itself.

There is a white retainer clip on the front of the plug itself. If you gently remove that with a screw driver then all you have to do is alight the square metal pin and slide it in. It goes right in without having to use any force or chance of breaking anything. Then just replace the front retainer and you're done.

I originally attempted just forcing the red light wire in through the back with the provided screw driver but found it was actually causing damage and was unsuccessful ultimately. The above method was way easier and safer.

That is a pretty good alternative. I wonder why DD didn't think of that on their install or instructions video. Mine is working fine right now. Hopefully I didn't mess anything up using the screwdriver push method.

Yeah. Thankfully I noticed it when I did my install because I saw some comments on CJponyparts about some people ripping off the rubber plug or just flat out tearing up the wire when installing. Mine sure as hell was not going to go in with the push method. :frusty:
