Does anyone know how long it actually takes for Flat Rock to build the car?

As for a car's actual build time, I think there is a varied answer. Body panel stamping/production and painting are usually done well ahead of a chassis rolling and being assembled on the line. So I imagine there is a staging area (or many areas) where hoods, fenders, trunks, doors and various other painted panels and parts are staged after going through whatever painting and curing process. These painted parts sit and wait until they are needed for specific car orders as the chassis are put on the line. The parts can be produced days or weeks ahead of time.

I've read in places that it takes maybe up to a few days to produce the car from the time the car starts rolling on the line to the time it goes to the yard where it is shipped. Also consider some cars need extra customization -- e.g. some need stripes applied, and that can add to the time too.

In the current situation of chip and part shortages, I imagine Ford is building cars where they can build most of it, then park them out on nearby lots where they indefinitely wait for the parts to arrive and be installed. I think that is the case for many cars these days, where folks even here on this forum are seeing their cars being built, but not shipped.

Below is a video giving a glimpse into some of the Mustang production process:

Congrats.

Crazy I ordered over a month later than you and my build date is 2 weeks earlier than yours. Not trying to rub it in but it’s interesting how the options factor into the timeline.

Mine is just a minimal base Auto 301A Black Accent though while yours is fully loaded af!

Lots of folks getting scheduled for June production. Lots of GT’s and Mach1’s. Still hoping that my Ecoboost Convertible ordered 2/28 might make the June production!! 🤞🤞🤞

Now that I have my VIN, when will it likely show a window sticker? I reaaaaly need to confirm my dealer added the MR and AE before it locked in. Apparently they said it is too late to change to Showstopper seats even though build is 6/20 week.

Thanks for your help,
Chris

I feel silly, what's MR AE and Showstopper seats?
