2018 “prime” when initially opening driver door

When sitting in the car waiting for wife or on break -car off-I hear this thumping after sitting 15 or 20 minutes -usually 3 thumps that sound like from rear. Seems random but I’m sure it’s something the computers are commanding. Not worried but curious. 21 gt

Maybe all Mustangs are not the same, but mine does it just sitting there. I was waxing the wheels one day, and it just did it, and startled the crap out of me. But it does it regularly. New cars have so many different systems doing different things.
