I have been remote starting my car (2016 GT Premium, nothing super cold, temperatures of ~50-52) and cannot get the seat heaters to kick on.

I have them set to auto.

The manual offers this

In cold weather, the system is set to 72°F
(22°C). The heated seats are set to high
(if available, and selected to AUTO in the
information display). The rear defroster
and heated mirrors automatically turn on.
but doesn't say what "cold" weather is. How cold are we talking before the heaters kick in? Does anyone know how many degrees "cold" is?

Thanks!

The heated seats don't come until you get in and manually turn them on. Only the vents turn on to adjust temp

Both my manual and display indicate that during remote start the seats will either go to the last used settings or an AUTO setting.

You ask how many degrees cold is? Off topic, I snowmobiled in the mountains east of Salt Lake City today. -10 most of the day. Would have loved the heated seat out of my Mustang. (lol)

No scientific evidence, but it does come on when it is in the 40's. Today is 30, so I know they will come on. I'll test it Tuesday when it's supposed to be almost 50, and see what happens.

heat seats do come on.. on remote start and i have been doing that for 1 year now....but there is a catch.. they don come on instantly...if the temp outside is say 30 degree... and u remote start it .. wait for 2 min.. before ur seats starts heating.....

Mine does all the time...

and yes do check your settings... that seat heating is enabled on start

Car has to read outside temp of 32 or below before it will kick on the heated seats. I dont think it says that in the manual. Took some asking around a few years ago to come up with that explanation.

Yeah, fixed my post. Meant 32 or below. That was on a 2010 Raptor and the temp reading could be different on the 2015s, but it is consistent with the heated seats coming on in the wife's 14 explorer.

Mine came on and it was 39 degrees outside. I let mine warm up 5 minutes before I went outside.

Interesting.

I guess in SoCal where I am I will probably never see them kick on. Today is expected to be in the 50s again, so I will let it run for 5+ minutes and see what I get.

Too bad it's not adjustable.
