Id buy off the lot but it'll be a struggle getting exactly what you want. With the 16 you just place an order and get the color/options you want.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I wish I could get a GT (Ecoboost is not an option for me, as if I would want a 4 banger I would get one of them Hyundais or something, I just think that the 4 Cyl. in a Mustang is a misunderstanding, it just doesn't look and sound right) but I am on a budget of 25-26K (as I am looking to have a payment of more or less 260 per month for 72 months with 10k down), and I could get a 12, maybe 13 GT with that money, but the thing is that it is a sports car, and we all know how many people drive them the way it is not meant to be driven. You buy one, and the next thing you know you have to do a head gasket because some nuthead was going pedal to the metal on cold engine, forget it. So when I buy a new car, this way I can be more confident that car wasn't driven hard. This is the story why a new V6. On a side, I think that it's a joke as to how Chevy made the 16 Camaro with 4 cyl. as standard and then V6/V8 as an option basically forcing people into getting a 4 cyl. for the same price that last year they were asking for the V6. They just made an extraordinary car into a plain car, one of many in their lineup. Not to mention Camaro (the 15 and 16) is more expensive from the start from the Mustang, and for the 15 the quality of interior on the base model is just terrible, plastic compound steering wheel from Cruze, ugly looking plastic shift knob, I mean really? Ford pulled it off with the great interior finish for like a grand less, but Chevy couldn't do it. And when it comes to the Challenger, I like it, but it's just too expensive, so Mustang it will be (and I am glad, I love the looks of it). As for the target OTD price, I am thinking around 23k. I don't really need the 051A package, I mean if I can get it for the right price, fine, if not I'm not going to cry over it, as one of the first mods would be GT rims for the summer, the only thing that's cool is the 3.55 gear ratio, but we'll see.

Ordering a '16 will help ensure no enthusiastic test drives. A '15 that's been sitting on the lot for a while will have a few miles on it. As for price, I think with a little leg work you'll be able to get either year at a good price. I ordered my '15 last July with 51a and walked out the door (TTL) under 24,000. I love the little things that package added on to this car - I wouldn't brush that option aside w/o crunching numbers with a dealer.
