Has anyone seen or heard anything about a 2015 gt/cs (california special)? Thinking about getting a '15 if they do otherwise may have to look for a '14 but really don't want to do that.

No there won't be a California Special for 2015. Things like the C/S are only Appearance Packages to generate interest in an older model to boost sales.

Just curious, your decision really hinges on whether they offer an appearance package? Seems strange to me with all the changes made for 15, that is the deal breaker for you.

No Problem. Have You Considered that it's the 50th Anniversary and Ford is offering not only an Anniversary Appearance Package and a Limited Edition Anniversary Model. Those will be more like what a C/S Package would be for the 2015 but Obviously the 50th Anniversary is a Big Deal.

I've heard the California special will probably have a firmer ride.

There is no California Special for the S550 Mustang (yet), nor has there been a precedent for California Specials to have a firmer ride on prior offerings as they were all just appearance packages. True for the original 1968 GT/CS, and the modern 2007-09's & 2011-14's, as well.

Yeah the GT/CS was a pure appearance package very simlar to the MCA appearance package that was offered on the v6's. You got the striping the black hood vents, the grill with the 3 bar pony logo the side scopes and the spoiler gt500 lower rear fascia and of course all the interior upgrades and marking of the cs including the carbon fiber looking dash panel. I looked hard at a 2014 gt/cs and still like them a lot there just isn't enough of a savings for me to buy a 2014 gt/cs for just 2500 less than a 2015 premium with all the upgrades the 2015 for a gt/cs loaded would have to be somewhere around 29,000 for me to consider it over the 2015 I ordered. Just the performance upgrades, launch control and IRS are worth the extra money of the 2015.

No 2015 GT/CS were made. Ford came out with the 50th Anniversary Model GT, only painted in Wimbledon White or Kona Blue.
They did come back for '16 & '17, but no '18, than again in '19 & '20. No '21s- MACH 1 NEW!
