I have inherited a 2007 Mustang GT with an engine hood vent and trunk mounted spoiler. It somehow managed to rack up 88K miles, if you can believe that.

I don't own it but I get to drive it in exchange for upkeep and maintenance. When I initially sat in the driver seat, several things became apparent.

First, it felt like being inside a submarine. The hood vent doesn't obscure the view as much as the left and right rearview mirror causes blind spots. But, dropping the sun visor leaves nothing more than a periscopic view of rush hour traffic and pedestrians not paying attention. The interior rearview mirror is whole another ball of wax.

Second, it handles like a tank in urban traffic. Maneuvering through retail lots is akin to a volatile excursion through hostile territory.

Third, it corners like a boat. Everything else aside, this is the most disconcerting trait. Enter a quick turn at the wrong angle or speed and it lunges in the direction of the curve, exit the turn and it slingshots back over to the opposite side, forcing you to compensate when you should have been enjoying a down and out, chicane or s-curve shuffle.

Other than that, the 4.6L V8 SOHC 24v power plant is Pole Position ready. Except, the center console lid is broken. Looks like screws are holding in the framing but the upper lid is sheared off from somebody using it for more than an armrest.

Any recommendation where I can order it new or used depending on cost? I live in central NJ so an online site would be preferable to a jaunt into a Manhattan junkyard. Best if they specialize in Fords, since I have a 2003 Ford Focus with 350K miles that could use some swaps. Just the other day. I refitted the Focus with faux leather front seat covers from Advance Auto Parts. They look like factory tailored leather seats, I'm amazed at what $50 can do to the interior. The Mustang goes in for inspection end of the year. So, plenty of time to shop for tires. Any reason why Uniroyal Tiger Paws would not transform the vehicle? The rim is a 17x4. Currently running on worn 235/55/17 tires.
