It's not a BOV... how many times does it have to be said? It is simply an adapter. If you use this you cannot disconnect and unplug the the stock valve.

I think what he meant is just unplugging the recirc tube from the stock valve and plugging the hole on the intake. I guess it would accomplish the same thing no?

That would be 100% VTA, right? I'm not familiar with the turbo system on this car yet.

Yes, stock the air goes right back to the intake so if you remove the tube it would be VTA.

Not sure if that would throw a code or something, but seems like an easy, and nearly free mod.

But yes pulling the tube off and plugging the spot on the intake will work. Not sure if it would throw a code on a speed density system.

Not everyone is a literary expert or can explain what they mean clearly. But I understand your frustration, especially when people ask the same question over and over without searching. My favorite: Do you have to leave the AP plugged in all the time? :headbonk:

I figured I was clear enough and I didn't ask the same question that's already been asked. We know the Boomba piece is an adapter. But as far as I can tell you can disconnect the recirc tube and plug the hole for the same sound. My question was is there any benefit to the Boomba over doing that or should I just save my $65?

We definitely would not recommend disconnecting the recirc tube due to the fact that you are leaving an open tract into your intake as well as introducing a huge vacuum/boost leak. The car will not know how to compensate for the air with that recirc tube disconnected.

It's a MAP car though, so volume isn't measured, right? How would it be a boost leak?

I don't think anyone would just take the tube off without plugging the hole on the intake. JLT includes a cap for their intake incase you want to remove the tube and let the stock valve VTA so I'm guessing it's been tried and didn't hurt anything.

I will probably be unplugging mine personally, just need to get a cap for the intake.

It's not going to cause a boost leak unless you leave the connection on the intake open.

You are right, brain fart. Unplugging that tube shouldn't be any different than installing the spacer that Boomba sells.
