I built a new desktop last summer that I hope can support reasonable performance on an ultawide 144p @144hz monitor. 3700x, 2080S, 32GB, and plenty of NVMe space on a mITX board.
Im not sure that Im going to get it. Back to playing SWGEMU, a 20 year old game with my new PC. only thing I need to upgrade atm is the vid card and install the liquid cooling, and install some RAM
current specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7GHz unlocked but not overclocked.
2x8GB RAM, DDR4 3700 - G SKill Trident Z
1000W power supply
1 terabyte samsung 880 SSD. need to add the M2 slot card as well too.
ASRock Taichi X470 M.Board
and an old Geforce 760 vid card.
Corsair 500D case, by far the cleanest case I've ever seen, very wide, the SSDs get mounted on the backside of the main mounting plate so that they are seen from the other wide of the case, both sides have a tinted glass, filters. this case it amazing.
this isn't mine. bit here is the case with a liquid cooling and the side panel removed:
so much room for activities.
and on the other side with door removed:
I need a new SP game to waste my time on. I tried replaying RDR2 but I just can't get back into it after grinding to the get the Legend of the East Satchel on my first/only full play through.
I've been going after Damascus in MW for awhile. Just need Pistols, ARs, and SMGs to finish; I'm burned out at this point. Cold War was a big waste of money. I hate I bought that game. Although the campaign is fun so far. Still a waste of money IMO.
The game is running pretty well so far. Set to Ultra with ray tracing disabled. DLSS on: set to balanced. Averaging around 55-70+fps. There have been a few dips in the teens though.
I've gone back to RTX Ultra enabled. DLSS set to balanced. FPS is only averaging in the 30-40 range. When I tried tweaking some settings to bring up the FPS it only got worse.
I'm okay right now with the lower frame rate because the game looks amazing.
