10 speed question

Just purchased a 2019 ecoboost. At cold start engine stays on high idle, about 1100 rpm. If I shift into reverse, trans shifts hard. When the car is warm, engine under 900 rpm, trans shifts fine into reverse. Possible recalibration issue?

It's normal. There is a lot of torque at fast idle compared to normal warm idle so it is inevitable the effect will be greater.
