Amp: alpine pdxf6 4channel
Speakers: 2x kicker ksc654

System has worked flawless since install (6 months) the other day I was driving listening to talk radio at volume 7-10ish (22 is max) about 5 mins into my drive the whole system made a loud pop and drivers side speaker literally smoked and stopped working.
I turned the car off and back on and moved the balance to the right speaker which also sounds blown and when I turn volume up past 16 with left speaker disconnected the amp goes into protect mode.

today I pulled the left speaker and it was completely seized and replaced it with the only spare I had. I didn't have time or another speaker to replace the right one yet. I disconnected the right one from the amp and the left speaker works fine and goes to full volume for a whole song that I tested it for.

I'm assuming once I replace right speaker which I believe is blown the amp will work properly and not go into protect mode.
I hope this all makes sense to someone :(

What could of possibly caused this to happen ?

Only thing I can thing is maybe condensation but the right speaker showed no signs of any water or corrosion

easy way to trouble shoot..... remove all speaker and rca from the amp but leave the power connected... Power up the amp.... if it doesnt go into protection mode then plug all rca's in and power amp back up... if all is good.... connect one channel at a time till you find the bad one.
