Had a great time running at the wannaGOFAST event at Heaven's Landing this weekend. Weather was perfect all weekend, and the car did well. I orginally had hoped for 130 mph, but after watching a 15 PP with catback exhaust run on Saturday I was thinking that might be a little over zealous. It was only running 126-127 mph. My car has a AEM Intake and weld in Magnflows for mods, and is a Premium with 3.31 gears.
The first pass out I was paired against a 2013 GT500. When the lights turned green that was the last I saw of him. I could hear him spinning in first and heard it fighting for traction in second, but he could not catch me. My first speed slip was 132.58 mph, I was extremely satisfied. The Shelby driver was quite impressed with my car, and a little surprised he couldn't run me down. He ran 142 mph through the traps, but he couldn't overcome my holeshot advantage. [ame]
The rest of the passes I made were against a couple from Jawja in their 15 PP GT. The wife approached me during tech and informed me she had the black 15 and we should run together. Her car had a slight advantage over mine though, it has a Roushcharger. I made 4 more passes throughout the day, a 130 mph, two 131mph, and second 132 mph. The 130 mph pass I realized as I went to 5th, the windows were down, so I had a little more drag. I'm still uploading and editing videos, but here is a little mix from in the car. [ame]
I had a mix of GoPro's and Iphone 5 footage, as well as video my wife took from the "sidelines". I wanted a good pedal view, but the lighting made it a little difficult to see. Overall I was satisfied with the way the car ran for no more mods than it has. I wanted to break 130 mph and I did that no problem. The best part is at the end of the day, we loaded the car back up(it was PACKED), turned the A/C on and drove home. Even with our whole weekend worth of gear( 10'x10' tent, folding chairs, Yeti Cooler, suitcase, and 4 other duffle bags) stuffed in the car it still averaged 30 mpg on the highway, and after a 100 mile stint across the mountain through lots of stop and go towns got 28.6 mpg.
