I wanted to hardwire my radar detector but none of the methods I've seen on here were really satisfactory to me. Most people suggest tapping into the plug at the back of the mirror, but that seems ugly and prone to failure in my opinion.
I think the better solution is to trace those wires...
Hey everyone. For starters I have a Beltronics V995 radar detector and a Blackbox G1W-CB Dashcam.
A little background: I modified the power converter that would normally plug into the cigarette lighter to have two wires for power and ground come out the end and soldered those to an MTA header...
I did a search and didn't see any threads on this.
Anyone here have and plan to get a dash-cam? I don't have one currently but I'm considering it for security/insurance claims reasons.
There was a scam here in Toronto where someone would intentionally reverse into cars at traffic lights...
