Yep had my car in for the same issue - ford had the car for two weeks and escalated with Ford to get a ford engineer who came out specifically to look at the issue. They even replaced the transmission (with a brand new one) but were unable to resolve (though it has improved).
Thanks RSPEC-015 - yes I found out the hard way (bought early and was told by Lethal Performance that they would work....). Will be going with Ford Performance.
Did you ever get to the bottom of this? Mine is currently at the dealers waiting for a new tail shaft. I had the same noise, but I also had a mild thumping noise whilst at cruising speed on the Hway at times, coming from the tranny tunnel / middle of car, like the tail shaft was slapping against the floor when mildly accelerating
It stopped doing it around the time I had the 3000km look see typically it has returned in the last week!!!
Murphys Law. When I dropped mine in for its service, they asked me to show them the clunk sound, needless to say it didnt do it but thankfully they still investigated and ordered a whole new set up. I just hope it fixes it...... In the meantime Im driving around in an EcoSport. Not quite the same as a Mustang but it'll do
