I figured I'd start this thread to introduce myself and chronicle my car. My uncle owned a Ford dealership in the small town I grew up in so you might say I was born into Ford. That's the only kind of vehicle I've ever owned.
My Mustang days started with the new '86 Race Red GT daily driver I bought after I graduated from college. Got interested in drag racing and bought an '89 LX and competed for several years in the now defunct Fun Ford Weekend series in the early '90's.
Then, family came along and I got out of racing and Mustangs period until I bought an '85 Fox body around 2000 that had been a frame off build of a street drag car. Had a 351 with Kaase aluminum heads. That was a bad a$$ car. Sold it a few years later and again was out of the Mustang world but still very much a fan. Actually went to buy a 2014 GT500 in 2014 but the car was not what the dealer had represented it to be and I didn't purchase it.
Which brings us to January of this year. I have a 2012 F150 Ecoboost that had a catastrophic engine failure(story for another time). I took it to a dealer where a trusted mechanic I knew worked. Turns out, that dealer is now owned by a guy that was the general manager at the dealership that helped sponsor my Fun Ford car years ago. We started talking and I ask about GT350 allocation. He tells me he gets one each year and his 2016 was already sold but his 2017 wasn't spoken for yet. So I jumped on it. He's a hardcore Mustang guy and really knows his chit when it comes to ordering them. He put my order in on the first day that ordering was open and it had a priority 1 on it. It was built on 6/6 and delivered by enclosed trailer to my house yesterday, 6/22. It had 5.6 miles on it.
I paid 5k ADM, but as part of the deal, they are going to install R calipers and an R steering wheel so it nets out to a good bit less than the 5k. The calipers and steering wheel had to be ordered so that will be installed in a few weeks.
I'm also going to have a clear wrap put on parts of the car and I will probably also get a nano coating applied. The details of that are still being worked out.
I'm not a big picture guy and the only camera I have is my phone so by some standards, these pics are going to suck...
When I walked into the showroom to buy the 350, this CobraJet is the first thing I see. And, as a big drag racing guy, immediately started to drool. If I ever win the lottery, this is what I'm going to go do...

A few have ask about differences between the '17 and '16. Honestly, I'm not all that familiar with the '16's but I'll answer any questions or point out the things I notice.
