I removed the center console latch mechanism to make it easier to install my Redline goods armrest cover but and now I can't get it back to working order. There is a little tension clip that popped out as soon as I unscrewed the two screws holding down the latch mechanism. Can anyone help me figure out where it's supposed to go? Right now my center console lid won't click into place. Looks like there needs to be tension to push the side latches away from the lid, but i can't get it to work.

The tension spring is up top, and the latch mechanism is on the bottom:

The clip goes in the console lid and pushes down on the mechanism. You should see the slot it fits in. I can't remember which way it faces but it will only work one way. If you have it facing the wrong way the lever will not actuate so just try the levers before you put the lid back on to see if they spring back.

Is it the one kinda dead center (left to right) near the upper portion of the lid? I have it in there but it doesnt seem to be providing enough tension to keep the levers sprung forward. I'll play with it some more. I have it flipped the way that provides tension, the other way makes the levers go limp completely.

yep. Try rotating it 180* or bending it out a little.

This is the slot its supposed to be inserted in correct? I've flipped it both directions but still can't get the latches to be pushed out. Tried bending it out more and everything. Can't seem to find a replacement clip for sale either
