Today as I was about to drive off to work, I had difficulty shifting from Park to Drive. My shiftter was really really hard and I had to use two hands to get the transmission shiffter to shift from Park to Drive. As I was Shifting thru the gears, I kept on hearin and feeling a huge "Clunk" noise coming from the engine. The "Clunk" noise was so loud and power full that my car will move forward and feel it as well. What makes it even weirder is that as I am shifting thru the gears, for example reverse to drive my whole car will move downward moving about 1 inch towards the back.

Has any had this issue or dealt with this issue? I made an appointment with a dealership to take it in after getting into arguments with two local dealerships not being able to accept my car and diagnose it in a reasonable manner.

There is a long thread on this. Mine was at the dealer for 2 months for this issue. They ended up replacing the output shaft, bearings, and slip yoke.

Hey Jpjr21,

Has your car been fixed ? have u had any other issues with you vehicle ? Did you ever contact ford to speak with them about your trans issue if so with who ?

Also, I noticed that you replied to a post regarding the brake issue, has that been fixed and addressed ?

Yes everything has been fixed. I have put 2000 miles on it since with no issues. I spoke to the regional csm once after 2 months of trying, and then I spoke to her supervisor and filed a complaint. I could never get a call back with her regardless of how many times I called and how many voicemails I left. They ended up giving me an extended warranty for the time it took and all the trouble. I am glad too since now it just doesn't shift as smooth. There is nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't shift like it did before they tore open the whole transmission to inspect it on Ford's order. They should have put in a new transmission and took my old one and inspected it on their time instead of making me wait 2 months for my car that I only had for 1 month at that time.

Well Jpjr21, just received a phone call from the service manager and he said that he had his technician duplicate the issue pretty bad. He told me he will need to get into the car, in other words dissemble the transmission. The tech believes that the issue is internally in my transmission. Now with what you have said i am going to request a new transmission not a rebuilt one, Once they touch that transmission in my eyes i know have a used rebuilt car. They estimate about 2 days to remove and inspect the transmission at this time ford has to TSB for the issue so im kinda angry and scared at the same time. I tried calling ford customer relations and they are useless, they wont transfer me or give me any kind of information to speak to an engineer or someone with knowledge of the Issue.

I THINK I PURCHASED A LIMON
