I saw a couple threads on this but haven't seen an answer, has anyone figured out how to "pull down" the glovebox to get to the cabin air filter? I don't need to change mine yet but I need to run some wires in that area for an EQ I'm installing (You'll see later)...

I did find out how to do it, but I don't know if it is the right way. You push the sides in around the rubber "cylinders" (stoppers) which gets it most of the way, but there is a little arm on the right side that it is stuck on. I gave it a tug and it came down, but this dislodged the little plastic geared wheel that is what controls the speed the glovebox falls. While this did get it open, and the wheel went back in just fine, I can't see this being the right way. I thought I broke it! :eyebulge:

Anyone done this yet?

Push in on both sides and pull hard. It will pop down.

I just searched YouTube for cabin air filter change in the 2015 Mustang ... nothing yet.

There is a video available now on youtube. If you google "cabin air filter replacement 2015 mustang" (without the quotes of course), you'll find it. It's from early 2016, done by a woman named Marie Kasprzyk. Interestingly, she seems to do it without touching the glove compartment door; she does it by just looking upward behind the glove compartment from the passenger-side footwell.

I haven't tried it on my 2016 GT350 yet, as I only have about 5,000 miles on the car. But, I did peer up behind the glove compartment (with the glove compartment door closed) with my head in the passenger-side footwell, and I did see the the door that provides access to the filter. It looks like it's pretty close quarters, and I definitely recommend some sort of headband flashlight, but it may be possible to get that filter out without messing with the glove compartment door at all.

You really don't need to get under the dash.
Once the glove box door is hanging from its hinges, there is a door in the black felt panel behind there.
Pop that down and you are staring at the filter door.
You can access the screw from there, and pull out the filter straight down.
A "reach around" is all you need to get the new filter seated.

Here is the video for going in from under.
It's much easier to do from the front as I described.[ame=""]

There is a whole thread on this, with a video in the DIY section that's very helpful.
